Just when you thought we couldn’t squeeze any more stock into the warehouse we have managed to find room for our new venture Ultimate Upcycling.

As directors of Ultimate Fabrics we have been interested in Mid century furniture for quite a while and have lovingly restored pieces using our amazing fabrics for our own home. We enjoyed doing this so much that we wanted to offer some of these amazing finds to our customers and so the idea of Ultimate Upcycling was born.

Mid Century Classics

G-Plan Housemaster designer chairBased on the Second floor of the warehouse at Unit 7b,  is our new compact, contemporary furniture showroom, a sanctuary for Mid century classic pieces – mostly chairs & sofas by renown, mainly Scandinavian designers.  In-store at the moment we have a number of stunning Ultimate Upcycling pieces to consider:

  • A rare 1960’s three seater sofa by Fritz Hansen model 0866 which we have had professionally re-upholstered by our colleague professional upholsterer David McNulty. The stunning designer fabric used on the Hansen  is ‘Ruskin’ by Morris & Co in colour linden which is a subtle lime colour way, we felt it was completely in keeping with the original design.
  • My personal favourite (still keep trying to sneak it home) is a KM Wilkins for G-Plan Housemaster designer chair. This 1960’s/70’s designer chair in teak –  is offered in its original state or with an option to re-upholster using one of our many suitable designer fabrics.

More Ultimate Upcycling

These retro pieces will not hang about for long,  but the good news is they will be replaced by even more goodies, so keep coming in for a look at what is new. If you are looking for unique pieces by Iconic designers you will not be disappointed.

Furniture Fabrics

All our  furniture has been or can be updated using our fabulous designer fabrics whilst working alongside our professional upholstery colleagues. However, some customers prefer to carry out the uplift themselves – whatever your preference we are here to advise.
